Wyndham Residences Costa Adeje – My stay!

A little February half term get away in the sun? Don’t mind if I do! ☀️

OVERVIEW

When it comes to winter sun, Tenerife is a popular option, so when my sister suggested a family getaway for February half term, it wasn’t a hard sell – especially when the UK weather was not giving!

Wyndham Residences Costa Adeje is a 3 star apart-hotel, just 20 minutes from the airport. It’s built into the hillside overlooking the sea, meaning the sunset views are epic. It’s a 15 minute walk (down to a fairly steep hill) to the main town, which is full of shops, bars and restaurants, and it’s also next door to the Siam Waterpark, so perfect for a family stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the main area.

ROOMS

The apartments come in the 1, 2 and 3 bed variety, with fully fitted kitchens (including a dishwasher), and we stayed in a 3 bed, which had 2 twin rooms, a master with a en suite plus a double sofa bed in the living room. We also had a family bathroom and large dining table. Our private terrace was huge, with another dining table and sun loungers and was a real sun trap.

We were given a small welcome pack in our room with a handful of essentials such as coffee, milk, snacks and drinks, and pool towels were available from reception with a deposit. There were also a number of apartments with hot tubs on the balcony and all the apartment have ocean views

FOOD AND DRINKS

Wyndham Residences Costa Adeje is perfect for a self catering holiday (which we did), however they do also offer B&B and half board plans. There are 2 places to eat onsite – The Sunrise resturant overlooks the pool area and is open for lunch, severing pizzas, pasta, sandwiches and salads.

The Sunset restaurant is where breakfast is served, which is buffet style with hot and cold options. In the evening, dinner is served a la carte with a mixture of international and traditional Canarian dishes all at very reasonable prices. There is a good range of drinks available from the bar, including cocktails and the Spanish beer is very good!

FACILITIES

There are 2 pool areas on the resort, a quieter one at the back of the resort and the main pool area at the front, over looking the sea. The main pool has a shallow section partitioned off for kids and there is also a separate baby pool and an also hot tub. The main pool is acclimatised and although it was a bit fresh, the kids didn’t mind and was a great spot for a late afternoon swim while watching the sun go down.

Onsite there is also a mini market selling the basics amenities, including snacks, pastries and drinks and there is also laundry room, which is super helpful as the apartments don’t have laundry facilities. The resort has a small kids club for those aged 4 to 12, plus a

TOP TIPS!

The elevated position – built into a hillside – means the views out to the sea from this resort are stunning however this means that although there are lifts, this resort is not somewhere I would recommend for those with mobility issues. Also, if you need a taxi, order one from reception, they are quicker and cheaper than getting an uber!
