The Le Meridien Khoa Lak is another resort I took the opportunity to conduct a site inspection, when I was staying in the area in February 2024.
OVERVIEW:
This is resort has 269 rooms which are spilt into three different blocks. One block contains family rooms, another has the entry level rooms and then finally there is a block of deluxe rooms. Hotel is popular with both families and couples like and at time of the inspection, the occupancy was 85%, the hotel is open throughout the year including Christmas and New Year all.
ROOMS:
The standard rooms are approx 45 m2 and have a walk in shower whilst the deluxe rooms are slightly larger at approximately 55 m2 and have a walk in shower plus a large bath. The 2 bed family rooms come in either standard or deluxe and both sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children. Across all room types the guests can select from a pool view or a pool access room and all the blocks have pool access rooms.
There are 8 beach villas on the resort either 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom, both of which have their own private pool. The one bed can accommodate 2 adults, two children at a push using roll away beds but the two villas can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 2 children with a king size bed and two twin beds. Again further roll away beds can be provided upon request.
Although not explicitly advertised the hotel does have rooms that can accommodate a wheelchair user and can be booked in advance if available.
FOOD:
Board basis options range through from bed and breakfast, half and full board and also all inclusive. There are three on-site restaurants all of them offering la la la carte however if the hotel is at high occupancy, then they will set up a buffet on the garden opposite the beach.
FACILITIES:
There is a extensive activity schedule for guests and a large proportion of them are included as part of the rate and there are others which are payable, ranging from one to 300 baht for activities like painting and arts / craft activities.
The resort has a well equipped gym, and also a spa with 10 treatment rooms. There’s also an on-site art studio where guests can have a painting and art lesson with the resident on site artist who is responsible for all the beautiful wall art around the resort. The large wall mural in the Hotel lobby is changed seasonally by the on-site artist to coincide with the season as per the Le Meridien brand concept!
AGENT TIPS:
This resort would be ideal for families looking for a high end resort in Khao Lak, especially those looking for a luxe all inclusive concept. It would also appeal to couple who don’t require a separate adults only section of the resort.
