Ibiza with a Baby?

So you are thinking about where to head for your first holiday with baby? Your bundle of joy is your whole world, and you want to start creating those all-important #memories asap, but where? You know you want a short flight as said bundle will be on your lap for the duration of the airtime, and you also want somewhere nice and warm, but not schorcio due to baba’s delicate skin. The obvious locations are mainland Spain and also Majorca and Menorca, but what about the party isle of Ibiza?

Usually considered a staple option for hen parties, stag dos and general party people, Ibiza has more recently become a go to destination for families. Along with some incredible nightclubs and party locations, Ibiza is also home to lots of stunning beaches and a boho hippy vibe if you choose the right resort. Ibiza Old Town is full of cultural experiences and is a UNESCO Heritage site while the north of the island around Puerto San Miguel and Portinax is peppered with sandy coves and beaches.

If you are looking for a resort that caters for families with babies there are lots and you can find these by using the Find Your Resort search engine to find resorts with baby equipment hire and splash pools. You can also search for resorts with supervised baby clubs if you really want to have some chill time on holiday! If you may not feel comfortable leaving your baby at a creche on holiday, but if you do then read on for some things to think about ahead of your holiday.

There are only a handful of resorts with baby clubs in Ibiza, so chances are they will popular so its worth contracting the hotel prior to arrival to check whether sessions need to be booked in advance. It’s no good planning a quiet Pina Colada on your sunbed then finding out the creche is full! Some resorts may also charge extra for you (well your baby) to use the creche so again it’s a good idea to check this before hand and building it into your holiday budget.

Don’t forget to make sure you have a handy sized change bag that you can leave with your baba at creche drop off filled with nappies, wipes, any medication, a change of clothes and a dummy if needed. You might also want to check whether the creche staff speak English, if that’s something that would make you feel more comfortable. And it goes without saying that you need to make sure the staff know if your child is on any medication or has any allergies and that you leave an emergency phone number.
